Every day, our nurse care team provides the most exceptional care to our region. Armed with superior skills, knowledge and professionalism, and boundless empathy and compassion, they work selflessly for others, and today was a very special day for over 100 of them!

Thanks to the Tampa General Hospital Foundation and generous donations from the community, 100 scholarships have been awarded to TGH team members who are pursuing advanced training – and four scholarships to team members who will enter a BSN program to become a nurse for the first time! TGH Earns Reverifications as a Level I Adult Trauma Center & Level I Pediatric Trauma Center

Tampa General Hospital has achieved reverification by the American College of Surgeons for both our Adult and Pediatric Level I Trauma Centers! TGH is proudly the first in Florida to achieve this distinction for both adult and pediatric care, further highlighting our commitment to providing the highest level of trauma care to patients of all ages. With a world-class team of dedicated professionals, specialized equipment, and a five-helicopter aeromedical transport program, we're fully equipped to handle the most critical cases 24/7.

Meet Meghann Scholl, a TGH Project Analyst, Registered Dietician, and Literal Lifesaver

While on a jog along Bayshore Boulevard, Meghann was able to help a biker who had fallen to the ground and had no pulse. After administering CPR with the help of two other healthcare professionals passing by and TPD Officer Hiles, the biker regained a heartbeat and began breathing on their own. When Meghann got her CPR recertification at TGH last year, she had no idea the life-saving skill would be needed just six months later.

Meghann's heroic actions were recognized as she received the Tampa Police Department's Chief's Appreciation Award for "exemplary performance in a specific incident." Both Officer Hiles and the biker from that fateful day, Chuck DeVeto, were in attendance. We're so proud to have Meghann as a member of our TGH team and we applaud her bravery and quick thinking!
