The 83rd Golden Globe awards had a lot of moments worth talking about: Why were those random UFC fighters posing as "extra security" in a promo before the beloved Heated Rivalry boys took the stage? Did not a single person in the room get Nikki Glaser's joke about the fact that The Rock should be grateful that Peacock's The Paper wasn't nominated? And should we all expect Polymarket-palooza at every Hollywood awards show now? Shayne Coplan, the platform's founder, spoke to VF from inside the ceremony about how Polymarket fared at predicting winners. Also: If you could vote for the best-dressed actors on the carpet, who would they be? VF will be tracking the competition on the red carpet, not just for this awards show, but for the rest of the celebrity season (come back and check out the leaderboard—next up, Grammys).

And in other weekend news, my household was roiled by the world of sport—playoff upsets, bets that didn't pay off, the money circulating in college sports. More tomorrow!

The Over-Under of Sports Betting
