Chaos At The White House Correspondents' Dinner

Even in a year of shocking news events, last night's violent incident at the White House Correspondents' Dinner was a monumentally surreal experience—a series of loud sounds, the President hustled from the dais by Secret Service, and a ballroom filled with media figures who carefully rose from the floor, then began to report on what they'd just experienced.
For many of the journalists at Saturday's dinner, that meant a race to the White House, where Donald Trump addressed the media just hours after the shooting, everyone still dressed in their red carpet finery.
