When Clara Molot first interviewed Aron D’Souza, the cofounder of the Enhanced Games—which would come to be known as the “steroid Olympics”—about his vision, he felt he’d triumphed over the critics. In the run-up to the event, he said he felt it all “went bigger, better than I would ever expected.” So we checked back in after the competition, which was held in Vegas last week. It seems that the “part peptide vendor and part sporting extravaganza” was widely considered a flop. Molot reports that even Maximilian Martin, the event’s other cofounder, had to admit he was slightly disappointed. “I thought we were going to break a few more world records.” Now, they’re pumping millions into the cash prize in hopes it’ll buff up the talent.
