If you were a guy named Bob, might you also have been appointed CEO of Disney at some point? We’ll never know. But today in VF, we do have a delicious excerpt from Bob Chapek’s new memoir, titled Behind the Castle Walls: My Thirty Years at the Happiest Place on Earth. In it, Chapek details how he was ousted from his cushy gig leading the House of Mouse and usurped by none other than Bob Iger—his un-retiring former boss, and the very executive Chapek had been hired to replace. “I believe the real reason I got fired lay with Iger,” Chapek writes. “From the moment he announced my appointment, he clearly regretted it.” It’s a business bloodbath dramatic enough to base a movie on. (Maybe take the treatment to Warner Bros. or Sony.) Elsewhere, it’s Primetime day! Samantha Bergeson has a deep dive into how closely the To Catch a Predator movie matches reality, featuring interviews with star Alex Winter and a former Predator decoy, while Chris Murphy had a sit-down with another standout from the film’s ensemble: Skyler Gisondo, who, as it turns out, cannot do a crazy trick on the trampoline.
