Donald Trump just dropped a bomb on Truth Social: Susie Wiles is out. As you may remember, Chris Whipple spent much of 2025 interviewing the now former White House chief of staff, a canny operator who comanaged Trump’s reelection campaign in 2024, for Vanity Fair. Please spend some time today revisiting his two-part Wiles story, then enjoy some lighter entertainment: Rebecca Ford’s new profile of Carrie Coon, who currently has two simultaneous projects—The Gilded Age season four and a new film called The Liberation, about a mother who abandons her family for a commune. Their conversation is funny and deep, as is Coon’s way. “I don’t do small talk anymore. I’m not good at it,” the Emmy nominee tells Rebecca. “I’m just like, ‘So we’re all going to die. How you feeling about that?’”
Elsewhere, Savannah Walsh writes about the major impact of likely Mississippi senator-elect Scott Colom’s clever eleventh-hour ads; Maxwell Adler reports from Ye’s latest attempted fashion comeback; and I humbly request that everyone stop saying “maxxing,” like, right now. More tomorrow! |
