It’s evening in America, and citizens who lean red are still letting last night’s blue wave sink in. (To borrow a phrase from Elon Musk, whose home state of Texas is now a bright, blazing azure.) Aidan McLaughlin spent election night party-hopping in DC, watching as the conservative chattering classes saw their stranglehold on the government loosen, bit by bit, in places even the most optimistic Democrat would never have imagined winning a few short weeks ago. “Darline Graham just plummeted on Polymarket,” McLaughlin overheard one say. “I hate my fucking life right now. Everything just sucks. Jesus Christ, we’re gonna lose it all.” Want more along those lines? Enjoy.
Elsewhere: Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed! A libbed-out LA! The night’s best tweets! (Yes—because of the blue wave, we are allowed to call them tweets again.) Peruse at your pleasure, comrades. More tomorrow. |
