What do fans of Widow’s Bay call themselves? If they don’t have a group name already, they’ll need to think of one before September—because the Apple TV sleeper horror hit just had a very good morning. The show—which basically boils down to “what if the mayor from Jaws lived on an actual haunted island?”—is officially the third-most-nominated program at the 2026 Emmys, outranking both old favorites like Saturday Night Live and shiny new ones like its network mate Pluribus. (The Pitt and Hacks, naturally, got the most nominations of all.) And the performance of Widow’s Bay wasn’t the only big surprise from Emmy morning.
